On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will be met by a representative, who will deliver to you your travel companion folder and assist you to the flight transfer check-in counter.
You will enjoy the ever-changing vistas on your flight from Johannesburg up into the Lowveld, with downtown Johannesburg replaced by Soweto and the industrial heartland of South Africa before panoramas of the bush begin to open up beneath you.
Kings Camp is situated in the well-known Timbavati Reserve. This exclusive area covers about 60,000 hectares of pristine African bush in part of the world famous greater Kruger National Park.
The vast elephant ranges in Timbavati are home to some of the last great bull elephants, many of whom have been wiped out elsewhere across the continent through excessive hunting and ivory poaching. Timbavati is committed to the conservation of these large tusked elephants.
It is also the ancestral home of the fabled white lion. Recently, two small lion cubs were born to parents whose combination of recessive genes turned the cub's fur bright white.
The ten Luxury Suites all have indoor and private outdoor showers. Beautifully and tastefully appointed, there are romantic, soft cascading mosquito nets, remote controlled air conditioners, a purposefully stocked mini bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities.
Kings Camp offers a lounge/dining room, bar, pool terrace and a game viewing platform which overlooks a very active waterhole. Other facilities include the curio shop, laundry, valet, fax, gym and library with internet facilities.
During the early morning and late afternoon you will have the opportunity to embark on some fascinating game drives with knowledgeable rangers in open vehicles. The reserve is home to the much spoken about Big Five and much more. In between the drives the days are flexible and, weather permitting, you will be able to feel the soil of Africa beneath your feet on a bush walk.
You will be served tea, coffee and biscuits on your morning game drive and drinks and canapés on your afternoon game drive. Your afternoon game drive gets back after dark, which gives you the opportunity to spot our nocturnal animals with a spotlight. It is a privilege to quietly watch a wild animal in its natural environment going about its usual business.
After the morning game drive and a scrumptious bush breakfast you will be transferred by light aircraft to Leopard Hills in the Sabi Sands. Here your every dream becomes a reality. The view of the wilderness is endless, the service impeccable and the setting breathtaking.

Game, including the esteemed Big Five, can be viewed on game drives, walking safaris, or even from the privacy of your suite deck. A knowledgeable and professional ranger conducts early morning and late afternoon/evening game drives, in search of nature's bounty. State-of-the-art landrovers, specifically designed for Leopard Hills, have individual bucket seats with fold-down armrests, ensuring your optimum safety and comfort.
Walking opens up the bush and one is given the opportunity to experience the ‘finer’ aspects of the bushveld. The smaller things come to life on a walk: insects, grasses, trees and less obvious species that are all an integral part of the Kruger ecosystem.
The suites are generously spacious. Air-conditioning and overhead fans provide welcome respite against the harshness of the African heat. The breathtaking romantic bathrooms, which include double indoor and outdoor showers, have windows which open to a glorious view of the passing cavalcade below.
The comfortable beds are complete with beautiful crisp percale cotton linen, down duvets and pillows, and gracious mosquito netting. A special touch to each suite is the perfection of final touches provided– from weather notes and African poems, to a fine array of bath salts and other bathroom amenities.
An inviting lounge area is equipped with a comfortable couch and ottoman, perfect for enjoying a cup of tea or coffee whilst reading a novel or one of the environment or leisure magazines provided in each suite.

A pre or post-dinner drink and fireside chat with your friendly ranger and new friends is always a superb way to close the day.
The dining room has a beautiful view of a waterhole beyond, and holds the finest in silver service dinners. A bushveld meal would be incomplete without one of South Africa's fine wines to accompany it. Here the esteemed wine cellar underneath the dining room is a treat for the avid wine connoisseur as well as the learning amateur, and is brimming with racks of celebrated local and international wines. The friendly team will assist you in choosing the perfect wine according to the menu for that evening.
The traditional Shangaan boma is used on warm nights and is a truly memorable way to experience an evening under the African night sky next to a crackling warm fire.
You will be awoken early for the (now customary) morning drive or walk. Guests may have the opportunity to appreciate the aroma of a sumptuous breakfast in the heart of the bush, but also the amazing smells and sounds that flow from a new day dawning in Africa. Unless, that is, you elect to stay at the Lodge and enjoy the splendor of your surroundings.

The main deck is perfect for whiling the day away with a pair of binoculars in the glorious sun or under the shade of an umbrella. On warm nights in summer, guests may be treated to a three-course meal in the heart of the bushveld. As guests complete their evening game drive, they will be enticed by the essence of a burning fire, to arrive to a hurricane lit ‘dining room’ in the bush. With the finest in cuisine and service excellence, guests will enjoy an unforgettable feast under African starlit skies.
Traditional Full English and Continental breakfasts are served on the main deck when the travelers return, with its stunning view over the waterhole yielding frequent sightings.

This is an exhilarating flight that swoops over deep and mysterious gorges, through lush valleys bursting with vegetation and colour. We will linger above cascading waterfalls, allowing for spectacular photographic opportunities. The flight will continue along the escarpment to God’s Window, which offers awesome panoramic views of the bushveld below and on to the fascinating and dramatic rock formations of the 3,300 feet deep, 19 miles Blyde River Canyon, (the third deepest and the greenest Canyon in the World).
Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the curious Three Rondavels! We will land at a site with magnificent views of the Mpumalanga Lowveld, where you are invited to enjoy a delicious picnic accompanied by South African Sparkling wine.
You will return in time to enjoy the afternoon's game viewing activities.

Your table carries candles and rustic hurricane lamps, which complete the full experience of true African dining. Starters will be served by your waiter at your table, followed by a delicious main course reflecting the environment you are in.
